La riscossa di Cecil the Lion

Spendiamo milioni per creare parchi protetti per gli animali selvatici e poi arriva un dentista da chissà dove e ammazza il capobranco?

Male, ma da oggi anche gli animali hanno un loro martire: Cecil the Lion.

Quanto al dentista ed all’enorme sfortuna che ha iniziato a perseguitarlo, già provvede lo spirito orixa di Shango che (di sicuro per chi ci crede) albergava in Cecil.

Piuttosto c’è da chiedersi se sia il caso di cambiare qualcosa nelle leggi statunitensi se uno come Walter Palmer già nel 2008 e nel 2009 era stato ‘pizzicato’ per aver ucciso una renna californiana protetta (4.000 esemplari) ed un orso nero …

Non è una questione di armi da fuoco (Palmer usa una balestra) ma di pericolosità sociale di questi individui e dei limiti da porre alla loro circolazione.

Really bad, but … now even animals have their martyr: Cecil the Lion.

Rather it is questionable whether it is appropriate to change something in the US laws if someone like Walter Palmer – between 2008 and 2009 – had been ‘tweaked’ for killing a reindeer nurtured to revival, numbering about 4,000 in 22 herds, and a black bear about 40 miles outside the area he was licensed to hunt and  falsely certifying the trophy.

He faced up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, but, after the plea agreement, Palmer was sentenced … to one year of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $2,938.

It is not a question of firearms (Palmer uses a crossbow) but of eniromental and social danger by these individuals and the limits to be placed on their movement.

And – about the dentist and the huge misfortune that began to haunt him – do not worry: the Orixa spirit of Shango deity provides in abundance. It harbored in Cecil (for those who believe) …
