Lucy Riina, an honorful daughter for a ‘catholic’ Mafia boss

Swiss television has published on its website an interview with Lucy Riina,  daughter of mafia boss Toto Riina, who said ‘I am proud and happy to call me Riina. It ‘s the name of my father and I imagine that any child who loves his parents does not change his family name. It corresponds to my identity ‘.

‘Our mother was extremely important, because we could not go to school. She taught us to read and write’. ‘ They’re my parents, we are Catholic and I love my father and my mother’, pointing out that  every night they prayed for the boss and that the worst in his life was the arrest of his father.
So ‘worst’ that every year, for about twenty years, millions of Italians rejoice the day of his arrest and commemorate massacres and martyrs of the Mafia.

He affected the election results of the Region and the Parliament. He blackmailed and probably continues to blackmail the Italian State, one of the countries of the G8 and NATO.
He has implemented terrorist attacks against civilians with car bombs and heavy charges.
How she can be ‘honored’ by a ‘this kind’ parent is hard to understand, unless we speak of ‘men of honor’ and ‘honored society’, but it is even more difficult to understand how she could be grateful to a father that – to escape the prison and continue its sordid business – has made raising children in hiding without even being able to attend a school and find freely their friends.

Lucia Riina: siamo cattolici, onoro mio padre …

La televisione svizzera ha pubblicato sul suo sito un’intervista con Lucia Riina, figlia del capomafia Totò Riina, la quale dichiara ‘sono onorata e felice di chiamarmi così’. E’ il cognome di mio padre e immagino che qualsiasi figlio che ama i suoi genitori non cambia il cognome. Corrisponde alla mia identità’.

‘Nostra madre è stata estremamente importante, poiché non abbiamo potuto andare a scuola. E’ lei che ci ha insegnato a leggere e a scrivere’. ”Sono i miei genitori, siamo cattolici e devo dell’amore a mio padre e mia madre’, ricordando che a casa pregavano tutte le sere e che il momento piu’ brutto della sua vita fu l’arresto di suo padre.
Peccato che ogni anno, da vent’anni circa, milioni di italiani festeggino il giorno di quell’arresto e commemorino quelli delle stragi e delle morti dei martiri di mafia.

Quasi immediata la reazione della società civile italiana, come quella di Giovanna Maggiani Chelli, presidente dell’Associazione Vittime della Strage di via dei Georgofili: ‘La sua favoletta di brava figlia che ama quell’assassino di suo padre, ma che gli dispiace tanto per le vittime di mafia la vada a raccontare a qualcun altro. Suo padre non ha ucciso qualcuno durante un raptus, ma ha macellato e fatto macellare scientificamente centinaia di poveri cristi che si sono trovati anche solo sulla sua strada come i nostri figli. Inorridisca una buona volta Lucia Riina davanti a tanto sangue innocente versato perche’ quelle come lei potessero fare la bella vita’.

Ricordiamo che Totò Riina è stato il capo indiscusso di Cosa Nostra siciliana per circa un ventennio ed a lui vanno ascritti centinaia di morti e feriti, attentati e autobomba, stragi, corruttele e cospirazioni, che condizioneranno il futuro dell’Italia e del Mediterraneo per molti decenni a venire.
Ricordiamo che Cosa Nostra (e la Ndrangheta che le è subentrata) ha invaso l’Italia e (in parte) la Germania di quell’eroina che ha avvelenato intere generazioni, ha creato un sistema fiscale parallelo a quello dello Stato controllando le estorsioni, ormai è presente più o meno direttamente in tantissimi appalti e concessioni, arrivando persino alla Borsa di Londra dopo quella di Milano.

Un uomo responsabile della morte dei magistrati Falcone e Borsellino con le loro scorte. Un criminale incallito che ha castrato le aspirazioni di sviluppo e crescita delle sua stessa terra, la Sicilia, condizionando persino l’erogazione dell’acqua alle case e nei campi, come tutt’oggi accade. Che ha condizionato i risultati elettorali della Regione e del Parlamento. Che ha ricattato e, probabilmente, continua a ricattare lo Stato Italiano, uno dei paesi parte dei G8 e della NATO.
Che ha messo in atto attentati terroristici contro la popolazione civile con autobomba e carichi espolosivi.

Come si possa essere ‘onorati’ di un tale genitore è difficile da comprendere, a meno che non si parli di ‘uomini d’onore’ e di ‘onorata società’, ma è ancora più difficile capire come si possa essere grati ad un padre che per scampare al carcere e continuare nei suoi sordidi affari ha fatto crescere i figli nella latitanza senza neanche poter frequentare una scuola e farsi liberamente degli amici.
Un boss mafioso che non ha mai dato segni di pentimento, come invece accaduto per i boss Provenzano e Buscetta o per il killer Brusca.

Figlia di un mafioso, cosa vogliamo aspettarci, direbbe qualcuno, dimenticando che la coscienza è qualcosa di individuale e non ereditata dai genitori, che al massimo possono educarla o plagiarla.

Una coscienza di cui Lucia Riina chiarisce i riferimenti morali quando dice “siamo cattolici e devo dell’amore a mio padre e mia madre”. Una questione di coscienza che riguarda tutti i cattolici, se, ad esempio, in Messico sono annose le polemiche per le ricche donazioni che la Chiesa Cattolica accetta dai Narcos.

Non a caso la Radio Télévision Suisse, dalla città che fu di Calvino, titola: “Une éducation catholique”.

Eppure, dovremmo ricordare tutti – messicani inclusi – che l’ episcopato siciliano ha comminato la pena della scomunica alla mafia ben tre volte – nel 1944, nel 1955 e nel 1982 – e che Papa Wojtyla, che stringendo il crocifisso e alzando il dito verso il cielo lanciò l’anatema ‘Convertitevi!’ contro i mafiosi e definì la mafia «frutto dell’opera del tentatore», «peccato sociale», il «contrario» della civilta’ dell’amore voluta da Dio. Anche il 20 maggio scorso, Papa Francesco ha ribadito che per i mafiosi i funerali non possono essere celebrati in chiesa visto che, non accettando il messaggio evangelico, si pongono direttamente fuori.

Roberto Saviano ha esortato recentemente il Pontefice ad emettere una scomunica urbis et orbis, visto che sia i delinquenti sia una parte del clero che gli officia i sacramenti, continuano ad ignorare la ‘lata sententia’.

Pur senza scomodare l’indaffaratissimo Vicario di Cristo, sarebbe veramente opportuno e utile che qualcuno informasse Lucia Riina di quale ‘dio degli Inferi’ si fanno servi i mafiosi come suo padre e di cosa prevede il Cattolicesimo per famiglie come la sua, se all’onore non vanno a sostituirsi pentimento e vergogna peri peccati commessi.

Nessun mafioso o sostenitore di una qualunque mafia può definirsi cattolico. Stop.
